Adventure to Nepal for a very special experience that will weave together ceremonial fire rituals (puja), exploration of sacred sites, visiting monasteries and ancient beautiful buildings, spending time in traditional villages, sharing knowledge about plants, ecology, and Ayurveda, trekking to mind blowing places in the Himalayas, and a pilgrimage to Muktinath - one of the most holy temples in Hinduism and Buddhism, where it is believed that by bathing in the 108 taps that surround the main shrine, one is purified from one’s sins.
If you are wanting to deepen your yoga practice, be awed, humbled, awakened, inspired, and renewed, then this is the trip for you. Aside from absorbing all of the beautiful sights, we will create space for satsang, or coming together in spiritual community - through yoga philosophy, mantra, asana, and more in our daily practices, that will be both structured and allow for you to have your own time to discover and explore.
Nepal is where the first yoga teachings were shared by Shiva on Mount Kailash; it is also the birthplace of Buddha. Nepal is like no other place in the world, with its access to the Himalayas, the cultural integrity of ancient villages that are built in stone, and the resonance of spirituality that can be felt everywhere you look.
We chose March for this journey because it is just when the mountains start to warm up, but before the crowds of tourists begin to flow in. During March, the sky and clouds tend to open up for better views of the Himalayas than they do later in the season. The amazing Hindu holiday Holi - festival of colors - happens a few days after we return from the pilgrimage trek, so if you decide to stick around for a couple of days, that is an incredible experience, too!
We plan to keep this container small to create a safe and intimate atmosphere.
General Itinerary
Our experience will include 10 days of exploration of the Himalayas in the Dhaulaghiri Zone.

Potential Add-On Package to Mount Mahabharat in Kavre
If there is interest, I am considering putting together a 3-4 day add-on package for anyone who wants to join me to visit the homestay where I lived and taught yoga with the most loving, kind, and fun family. That is actually a pretty fantastic place to experience Holi - i.e. in a village, with a family, rather than the craziness of a city. While at the homestay, we’d have opportunities to learn Nepali cooking, visit waterfalls, go on beautiful forest walks, visit the Narayanthan Temple, and hike to the summit of Mount Mahabharat (and maybe even camp out) for 360 degree views from India to the Himalayas (if it’s clear!).
