Nepal: Himalayan trekking, yoga, and Pilgrimage to Muktinath

March 11 - 21, 2024 | Nepal

Adventure to Nepal for a very special experience that will weave together ceremonial fire rituals (puja), exploration of sacred sites, visiting monasteries and ancient beautiful buildings, spending time in traditional villages, sharing knowledge about plants, ecology, and Ayurveda, trekking to mind blowing places in the Himalayas, and a pilgrimage to Muktinath - one of the most holy temples in Hinduism and Buddhism, where it is believed that by bathing in the 108 taps that surround the main shrine, one is purified from one’s sins.

If you are wanting to deepen your yoga practice, be awed, humbled, awakened, inspired, and renewed, then this is the trip for you. Aside from absorbing all of the beautiful sights, we will create space for satsang, or coming together in spiritual community - through yoga philosophy, mantra, asana, and more in our daily practices, that will be both structured and allow for you to have your own time to discover and explore.

Discover Your Dosha

September 16 | Mountain Yoga Studio | Susanville, CA

This FREE 1.5 hr workshop will introduce you to some of the concepts behind Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga. Ayurveda teaches us how to live a life full of mental and physical health through understanding the energies that make up our own unique constitution, as well as recognize when these start moving out of balance. Imbalances in our doshas (the energies that make us up) that accumulate can lead to dis-ease. By embodying Ayurvedic principles to our lifestyle, we can begin to restore health and wellness, vitality, and natural energy into our daily life.

Nature Mandala Making and Meditation

Multiple dates | Sierra Hot Springs | Northern California

Take a walk to explore the beautiful Sierra Hot Springs property, to observe and learn about the different trees, shrubs, and flowers that dominate the landscape.

Explore connecting even deeper with nature through creating a nature mandala. Learn about the meaning behind mandalas and the value of creating ritual and sacred space in nature, and ethically collect small pieces (leaves, twigs, stones) that call out to us, to create a beautiful, personal mandala at a sweet special spot.

After your mandala is created, enjoy a guided meditation using your mandala accompanied by sound healing instruments. We'll photograph our finished pieces at the end so you can carry it with you.

Grounding and Nourishing Yourself for Vata Season

September 28 | Truckee Meadow Herbs | Reno, NV

Learn practices to find stability and comfort, as well as about using supporting herbs, foods, and spices to ease your way into the fall season and keep yourself balanced.

In this 1.5 hour class, we will dive into the Ayurveda of the fall season, and how we are affected by this shift in the environment. Oftentimes, in our area, this season brings increased wind and colder, dry conditions that affect us in both mind and body.

Using recipes and principles from Ayurveda, we can bring balance to our internal system through the foods we eat, the spices we use to flavor our dishes, and the manner in which we prepare them. Bringing some of these practices into our daily life can help to boost our immunity, reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, and enhance our feelings of grounding and nourishment, not only during “Vata season”, but throughout the year.

Includes course materials, small snacks, and tea prepared on site inspired by seasonal recipes (bring your own mug!)

2 hour class ~ 5:30-7:30pm ~ $33 investment
